The Republic of Croatia is a southern European country and is bordered by Slovenia, Hungary, Italy, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Montenegro and Serbia. In the west, the natural border is formed by the long coastline of the Adriatic Sea. Combine the azure blue water, the unique views, the beautiful nature and modern accommodation with unprecedented hospitality and you understand why Croatia is becoming increasingly popular!
Climate can be divided into 3 parts: the lower coastal areas have a Mediterranean climate with mild but wet winters and dry, warm summers. On the mainland, the Dinaric Alps loom right behind the coast. This mountain range follows the entire coastal area from north to south and has a continental or temperate sea climate. The winters are colder and wetter here, even in the summer the temperature is lower than in the coastal area.
The eastern part of Croatia borders on Hungary and is much flatter. This is unmistakably a moderate continental climate where the influence of the sea is negligible, given the location behind a mountain ridge.
The Croatian border is around 1300 km from Antwerp. As a result, this beautiful country is a perfect destination for car holidays. Via Germany, Austria and Slovenia you are – depending on the number of breaks – in about 13 hours in Croatia. At Croatia Experience we offer our customers the possibility to insert a stopover with overnight stay in Flachau.
After approx. 900 km. enjoy a delicious meal and a pleasant bed in this picturesque Austrian mountain village. The swimming pool and wellness ensure that you can continue your journey fresh and cheerful the next day. We recommend this in advance! Be sure to buy your road vignette for Austria and Slovenia at the hub stations along German motorways. These are not expensive at all.
If you prefer to travel by plane, you can depart from Zaventem, Charleroi or Antwerp (depending on your destination). Rotterdam and Eindhoven are also possible. After an average of 1h45 you already land in Croatia. At every airport we offer our customers the opportunity to pick up a rental car at reduced prices.
Nothing can stop you from discovering Croatia!
Extra tip: All-in formulas are very useful for families with children, but if not really necessary, we strongly recommend that you only take a bed & breakfast regime. The Croatian villages are so cozy and the many restaurants and bars are relatively cheap. It would be a shame to stay in the hotel while this country has so much to offer.
